Values and Purpose

Who We Are

We are a community sauna, first established in 2023, based at Folkestone Rowing Club in Sandgate.

Our purpose is to provide affordable sauna experiences for sea dippers, swimmers and wellbeing enthusiasts who seek somewhere to relax and connect with others in a healthy and welcoming space.

We do so by running a not-for-profit community-led sauna where our members are trusted stakeholders and encouraged look after the sauna and create a safe space for all.

Values

We welcome everyone to the sauna. We trust our members to look after the sauna and each other, inside and outside the sauna.

We encourage our members to engage positively with one another and to foster a sense of belonging within our community. We also encourage our members to take responsibility for their actions and hold each other accountable.

Vision

We aim to create a robust and healthy community organisation, run by its members, that celebrates our shared connection to the sea and our natural world.

Our long-term ambition is to build a larger sauna, or set up a sister sauna, to allow more people to join our community and access the calming and restorative benefits we enjoy.
